Outdoor Cyclo-aliphatic Resin Cast Current Transformers up to 36 kV

The main insulation is non-aging epoxy Resin which is a proven insulating material since last several years.

The current transformer is encapsulated in the resin in a single process which is done under controlled temperature and vacuum.

The transformer is very compact.

It requires practically no maintenance.

Primary winding is wound in double disc fashion with rectangular copper strip conductors having multiple-paper covering as insulation. This ensures high mechanical strength against forces developed during dynamic currents.

All metal parts are painted in-house. The painting scheme is shot blasting, zinc spraying, followed by two coats of epoxy based zinc rich primer with a top coat of polyurethane paint of desired shade.

All exposed hardware is of stainless steel.

Transformer is designed and processed to obtain partial discharge free performance.

CTs can be designed to international standards IEC, BS, ANSI(IEEE) etc.

Products are designed for partial discharge free performance even at elevated voltages.

The transformer is very compact

It requires practically no maintenance.

Primary winding is done in trapezoidal fashion with continuous reduction of turns ( in the order of start layer to end layer) to ensure mechanical stability and also high strength against impulse voltages.

High quality Kraft paper or poly propylene film is used as inter-layer insulation and is judiciously applied to obtain optimum performance. In case of kraft paper insulation, the coil is dried, and impregnated with low viscosity resin under vacuum prior to the final encapsulation.
